In mid 2011/2012 SJM Where appointed by ISG Regions Bradford & network rail to Carryout the works to the existing pond area, car park & basement, this included, Joinery & Timber Decking, Forming openings & Brickwork, Ground work, Balastrading and site Clearance, to the refurbishment of George Stevenson House York.

On this contract SJM undertook a number of different elements of work the main area of this being in the lower car park and pond area, where we had been contracted to change the existing pond into a external new seating area for the new cafeteria. This included infilling the existing ponds and creating a drainage system, relaying the copings and re pointing the existing stone work and forming assess steps as well as laying over 100m2 of a none slip timber decking.

To finish of this area we provided a bespoke balustrade with timber handrail and bespoke seats, planters and plants to the clients choice. Additionally to this we carried out internal brick & block work and also removed the ramps to the car park and re tarmac ed the lower car park. SJM also provided site clearance and cleaning to this contract, removing all leftover waste and taking down all site compound fencing, this has been recycled at our unit and reused on other contracts. This Contract allowed SJM to show that we are a diverse company and can deal with all aspects of construction by providing both management and skilled operatives needed to deliver a high standard of quality and attention to detail that is needed in today's market.
